BRAZIL STILL NOT READY

It seems that Brazil is still not ready to host the FIFA World Cup 2014, as there have been many reports of slow construction and the capacity of the public transportation.

Brazilian officials are now finding it difficult to defend the collapse of six office buildings near the Maracana Stadium. The Maracana Stadium is undoubtedly one of the most iconic locations in Rio de Janeiro, but the stadium has been in construction mode for quite some time now. Many also expect the construction work to carry on into 2013 as well.

Absolutely no work has been done in terms of improving the public transportation of Brazil. Brazilian public transportation is certainly not the best at the moment and it will severely be tested during the FIFA World Cup 2014. Hence, the plea from the public and the organisers face the fact that Brazil should step up their efforts to increase the essential items for the World Cup.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup at South Africa also faced similar issues, but it ended up being one of the most successful FIFA tournaments in recent times. Even though it lacks behind the organisation of the 2006 FIFA World Cup at Germany, it was still respectable in many terms.

Many respecting the 2014 FIFA World Cup Cup at Brazil to be also very much similar. "The collapse “is entirely unrelated to the preparations for the 2014 World Cup, the 2016 Olympic Games and other events that are already part of the city’s calendar,” said a statement from the Rio’s City Hall.

The Brazilian public officials have denied giving out any details about the timeframe for the completion of the Maracana Stadium and also many other stadiums in and around Brazil. Transportation is expected to be the major problem during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
