FLICK ALREADY PREPARING FOR THE 2022 WORLD CUP

New Germany head coach Hansi Flick may not have taken possession of the country's national side squad yet, but he is already making plans for the future, according to a recent interview he granted. Flick announced before the end of last season that he would be stepping down as Bayern Munich manager after insisting that he would not be extending his contract with the German Bundesliga giants. His departure from the German club meant that he was going to be replaced by RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann even though the move earlier had tongues wagging.

Flick's decision to quit Bayern was partly influenced by Joachim Low's announcement to step down as the head coach of the German national team. However, Low is still in charge of the squad and is also the coach managing the German team at the Euros. He is expected to stop being the country's head coach once the Euros is rounded up. But according to the interview by Flick, he is already looking forward to being the man that will lead his country to their next World Cup tournament.

According to the former Bayern Munich boss, the country has a lot of exciting players and he also added that he can't wait to start working with them. Speaking on his time at Bayern and why he decided to leave the club, Flick, who won a couple of trophies at the Allianz Arena, including the Bundesliga title, the UEFA Champions League title, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, insisted that he enjoyed his stint as Bayern manager but eventually had to leave his role at the club when he had the chance to coach Germany.

He also said that even though he wishes he has already taken charge of the team, he will still be very excited when he takes charge of the team's first training session
